Visiting au LEO : David Drukker Du 09 septembre 2019 au 10 septembre 2019

David M. Drukker  visited the University of Orléans and the LEO in particular on September 9-10, 2019. He taught several lectures to the Master 1 International Economics students, to the PhD students and to the LEO researchers. The topics of his lectures were related to implementing an estimation command in STATA and MATA and to valid inference for coefficients in high-dimensional models.

David M. Drukker is the Executive Director of Econometrics at STATA. His passion for programming gave him the opportunity to start working at STATA since spring 2000, when he finished his Ph.D. in economics at the University of Texas at Austin. Since then he was a main contributor of what we know about STATA today.

He developed many STATA commands for estimating treatment effects and for analyzing panel data, time-series data, and cross-sectional data. He played a key role in the initial development of STATA MP, helped integrate MATA into STATA, and has helped develop some of STATA and numerical techniques.   While he was a program developer he was also a very active researcher. In particular his work was published in leading Economic journals as: The American Economic Review, The Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Economic Literature, Journal of Regional Science, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Econometrics Review and of course STATA journal where he has extensive contributions, besides many other books and journals. His work with Abadie, Herr and Imbenson on matching estimators has about 1200 citations.
